We recently completed data collection that includes samples from SMU, Boston University, and Amazon MTurk to comprehensively examine the construct of social sensitivity and it's relationship to symptoms of psychopathology and social cognitive processes.
What is Social Sensitivity?
The term "social sensitivity" or "interpersonal sensitivity" has been used in academic papers over 1000 times, and yet, researchers appear to use these terms to mean very different things. For example, social sensitivity refers to feelings of empathy and a desire to help others in need. Alternatively, social sensitivity has been defined as emotional reactivity or volatility toward others.
